On Sunday 28 March at 16.00, the visual arts association Stichting Beeldende Kunst Middelburg will present a Dutch-language talk by Bart De Baere at De Kabinetten van De Vleeshal, Zusterstraat 7 in Middelburg.
Bart De Baere was a member of the purchasing committee for the expansion of the collection of De Vleeshal and opened the Jan Fabre exhibition there in 1995. He is the director of M HKA, Antwerp’s museum of contemporary art. In 1992 he was one of the three commissioners for Documenta IX in Kassel. He also advised the city of Johannesburg on its Biennale and has been involved in an array of exhibitions, including some for the Venice and São Paulo Biennales.
His talk will relate to the current exhibition at De Kabinetten van De Vleeshal: Collection 02: The collections of De Vleeshal en M HKA. The collection of De Vleeshal is on long-term loan to M HKA . De Baere will discuss the collections and the partnership between De Vleeshal and M HKA.
This is the third talk in this year’s series. Admission to the talks is free of charge, and no reservations are required. The talk will be given in Dutch.
