Craigie Horsfield is best known for his photographic work and his participation in socially engaged projects. More recently, however, he has been involved mainly in collaborative and experimental sound works. De Kabinetten van de Vleeshal staged an exhibition of Horsefield’s portrait photographs.

Concurrently with Soundwork 4.0 in De Vleeshal, De Kabinetten van de Vleeshal presented Portraits: large black-and-white photographs of people Soundwork participant Craigie Horsfield had met and worked with over the years. The collaboration between sitter and photographer is of the utmost importance to Horsfield: he believes both to have an equal share in the final result. This is why the names of the sitters featured prominently on the invitation to the exhibition’s opening.
