By means of computers, Lucas van der Velden – alias 0010 – creates restrained, lucid and hypnotic images to accompany music. His video works were shown in De Kabinetten van De Vleeshal.
Lucas van der Velden develops computer programs and creates imagery to accompany live performances of electronic music by artists such as Speedy J. In doing so, Van der Velden seeks to achieve a synergy of image and sound. De Kabinetten van De Vleeshal showed music videos by Van der Velden, which form an extension of this live work. Van der Velden’s utterly abstract videos are marked by the austere aestheticism of the works that develop analogously to the music they were created for.
In the three cabinets comprising De Kabinetten van De Vleeshal music videos were shown that Van der Velden created for: Endorphins and Eaven (as 0030, in collaboration with Martijn van Boven), for Speedy J and for Eog and Phako.
