Tempo was De Vleeshal`s screening of Israeli artist Uri Tzaig`s same titled video work.

Uri Tzaig`s video film Tempo consists of 60 sequences, each of which lasting one minute. Tzaig shot the sequences all over the world, using a static camera. Chance determined what was recorded. The final result made for a kaleidoscopic experience.

Each of the 60 sequences was a separate entity, a complete `poem` composed of images. In filming Tempo Tzaig did not strive for technical perfection: the experience of viewing was of paramount importance. Especially composed improvisational music by American musician and producer Arto Lindsay (who has worked with artists such as David Bowie, Laurie Anderson and Mathew Barney) was used to create occasional accents.

Tempo was shown on a large screen within an architectural installation by Tzaig: his response to the Gothic architecture of De Vleeshal.
