Alternative Sinterklaas Celebration in collaboration with Keti Koti Zeeland

On December 4 at 4pm you are warmly invited to a special alternative Sinterklaas celebration organized by Keti Koti Zeeland. During this afternoon, Henna Goudzand Nahar will read from her children’s book De vrolijkste verjaardag van Sinterklaas (Sinterklaas’s Happiest Birthday). The book follows a Black boy, Fer, who is asked to become an acrobat Piet. But what happens when all the Piets start putting on their make-up?

The reading session will be complemented by singing, creating a song or rap together, and writing. Everyone is welcome at this interactive afternoon! Participation is free of charge. Please note this event is in Dutch!

This program is part of the public program of the exhibition Tatar* Kiss, which focuses on hidden stories, unknown histories and underexposed perspectives. This aligns perfectly with Henna Goudzand Nahar’s book and the mission of Keti Koti Zeeland.
