Presentation Carly Rose Bedford

On December 7, you could join us for a toast and showing of work-in-progress by AIRZeeland resident, Carly Rose Bedford.

From October - December 2025 artist, choreographer and researcher Carly Rose Bedford took up residency in Zeeland, with a focus on the Hedwigepolder - a restored wetland created through a long and much-contested process of ‘depoldering’.

During this residency, Carly Rose Bedford has braved the autumn and winter seasons, spending long mornings, days and dusks in and round the Hedwigepolder and its many residents: both human and non-human.

For this in-progress showing of new work, visitors were invited to mingle with the artist and participants to talk about their work at Vleeshal and for a special toast of Hexborrel - a liquor flavoured with wormwood gathered from the verdronken land (drowned land).

AIRZeeland is a residency platform co-convened by Mostly Modern Festival, Theaterproductiehuis Zeeland and Vleeshal with the support of Provincie Zeeland. AIRZeeland supports new perspectives in Zeeland, emerging ideas, and cross-disciplinary experimentation.
