Sensory friendly visit

Sensory friendly opening

16 August 2026
7:30 – 9 am
Vleeshal

€7.5Tickets

Vleeshal occasionally organizes sensory-friendly visits. These are for visitors who prefer a calm and predictable environment. During these openings, we minimize sensory stimuli as much as possible.

During these openings, we do the following:

  • We turn off sounds and background music.
  • We reduce bright lights, reflections, and flashing images.
  • At the information desk, you can borrow earplugs, sunglasses, or headphones.
  • A sensory map is available at the information desk. This is a floor plan of the exhibition. You can also download it below.
  • Before your visit, you can view a visual preview online. See the link below.

Rest area

Vleeshal does not have a designated rest area. However, there are a few spots in and around the building that you can use as a rest area.

During the sensory-friendly opening, you’ll enter through the main entrance. The rest area will then be outside, in the Vleeshal’s courtyard. In case of bad weather, you won’t be able to sit here. In that case, you can use the chairs in the reception area.
