Queer Cheer

Queer Cheer is the party where the queer community comes together to celebrate diversity, self-expression, and connection. Expect an evening of dancing, meeting new people, and drag performances every hour. Following a successful edition in 2025, Vleeshal and De Spot are once again joining forces for the second edition of this annual queer celebration.

Queer Cheer is for everyone. We aim to create a safe, inclusive, and joyful space for the entire queer community and its allies. Through clear house rules and a shared commitment to respect and care for one another, we work together to foster an environment where everyone feels welcome, free to be themselves, and celebrated!

To help protect everyone's privacy, phone cameras will be covered upon entry. This ensures that no photos or videos are taken of people dancing or enjoying the event without their consent. If you would like a keepsake from the evening, you are welcome to visit our photographer, who can take a portrait of you and your friends, partner, family, or chosen family in your finest party outfit.

The Countess

She’s Amsterdam’s chicest, most glamorous puss; she’s worked with brands like Swarovski, appeared in Vogue, walked the runway in Seville, and was the face of Steve Madden. From pageants to TV shows, from piano to burlesque… she does it all! Originally from Middelburg, The Countess is a professional jack-of-all-trades. She applies makeup like no one else, shines on the runway and in photo shoots, and on top of that, she’s also a talented pianist. She rose to fame as the Fashion Queen of Drag Race Holland Season 2, and now she’s a reality star on Videoland/RTL and Amazon Prime.

Liza Pocket

Liza Pocket, originally from Zeeland, is a versatile Dutch drag artist known for her comedic and expressive performances, social activism, and educational projects. She is active as a performer, host, coach, speaker, and organizer within the drag and LGBTQIA+ community in the Netherlands. Liza Pocket is committed to inclusivity and youth participation within the LGBTQIA+ community. She is involved in initiatives such as Youth Pride Amsterdam, Youth Pride Drag Royalty, Purple Friday, Coming Out Day, and World Pride 2026. She was named Best Drag Artist of the West in 2022 and Best Drag Artist of Brabant in 2021, and was a finalist in Holland’s Best Drag Artist in 2022 and 2023.

She was also one of the founders of several well-known drag competitions. She now produces and hosts Youth Pride Drag Royalty at Youth Pride nl, a branch of Pride Amsterdam. This is a drag competition for and by young people. There’s nothing more important than discovering yourself as a performer in a safe space!

R-Jaye

R-JAYE creates music at the intersection of electropop, synthpop, and glam rock. His live shows are intimate and intense, featuring vocals, electronic backing, and theatrical elements that create a distinctive stage presence. R-JAYE has previously performed at Concert at Sea, Vestrock, and the Bevrijdingsfestival Vlissingen, and has also played at various cultural and queer-oriented events throughout the country. As an openly queer artist, he celebrates individuality and authenticity, and creates a space for listeners who connect with honest, emotional pop music.

With his motto “Free your mind, paint your soul — life is artistic,” he invites you to join him in entering a creative, musical world where freedom and self-expression take center stage.
