On Saturday, December 13, you are invited to join a wet felting workshop at Vleeshal. The workshop takes place from 2 to 4pm under the guidance of Shona de Cooker. During this afternoon, you will learn the technique of wet felting and create your own felted object. Participation costs 5 euros, and there are a limited number of spots available. Purchase your ticket via this link.

Wet felting is a technique in which wool is turned into felt using water and soap. It is a traditional technique used, among others, by artist Milana Khalilova in the exhibition Tatar* Kiss. In her work Xade, she depicts a Circassian forest garden. Her installation of felted objects evokes the fruit trees once cultivated by Circassian communities, Indigenous to the western North Caucasus. During the workshop Listen, Feel, Felt, you will be introduced to the work of Milana and others in the exhibition Tatar* Kiss, after which you will get to work with this technique yourself.
